Health Bars

Health Bars
Lotus Seed, Cooked and chopped 1/2 cup
Black seseme seeds 1/4 cup
Dried cherries 1/2 cup
Chestnuts, Cooked and chopped 1/2 cup
Raisins 1/2 cup
Brown Sugar 1/2 cup
Honey 1/2 cup
Rolled Oats 3 cups
Cinnamon 1 tsp
Salt 1/2 tsp

Mix all ingredients in bowl. Adjust amount of brown sugar and honey for desired consistency. Spread into 9 x9 square baking dish, press down evenly. Bake for 20 to 30 min at 350 degrees. Let cool , cut into bar size pieces.

Strawberry butter

Strawberry Butter

1/2 cup butter, softened
2 tablespoons honey
1 tablespoon strawberry preserves

Mix together in a bowl well put on a lid to be refrigerated for later use.

This meal is for a Lung Yin xu Pattern with Stagnant Blood

Larabar Type Medicinal Energy Bars

I used Medjool Dates. They can be found in the bulk bins at Whole Foods and other health food stores.

Always be sure you have a little more wet/sticky than dry ingredients so the bar sticks together. When making four bars the ratio is generally 1 cup sticky fruits and 2/3 cup nuts and seeds or very dry fruits.

Larabars at the grocery store are stored in light and oxygen proof packaging. These homemade bars need to be kept in the fridge to stay fresh until the day they are going to be eaten.

Basic Recipe:

Set out four pieces of plastic wrap for shaping and wrapping the bars. Do this first; you’ll have sticky fingers when you need it.

Place the dates and dried fruits in a food processor. Pulse until processed to a paste.

Transfer paste to a medium bowl (don’t clean processor).

Add the nuts and seeds to the processor and pulse until finely chopped. Add the nuts, to the bowl with the fruit paste. Use your fingers to knead the nuts into the paste.

Divide mixture into quarters. Place each quarter on each of one of the sheets of plastic wrap. Wrap the plastic around each bar and start squishing into a bar shape form, 3 and 1/2 inches long, 1 inch wide and 3/4-inch thick); press against countertop to flatten bottom side, flattening top side and ends with flat of hand. Tightly wrap the plastic around each bar and store in the refrigerator. Makes 4 bars.

Tonify Qi Ingredients:

Dates: 1 cup

Dried Apples: 1/3 cup

Almonds: 1/3 cup

Pumpkin Seeds: 2 TBS

Tonify Qi:

Dates: sweet, neutral: Supplements blood and body fluids

Apple: sweet, sour, cool: Tonifies SP, ST and LU

Almond: Moistens LI & LU, tonifies SP & LU

Pumpkin Seed: neutral, sweet: Tonifies Middle Burner, tonifies qi
