Pumkin seed milk- for Sp/ST Middle Jiao supplement

Ingredients –
1 cup raw pumpkin seeds
5 cups water
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 tablespoon sweetener (agave, honey, or maple syrup)

Directions –
1. Soak seeds- then rinse
2. Blend seeds with 2 cups water for one minute
3. Optional – strain if you want smoother milk, leave as is for a grainier texture
4. Mix blended seeds with remaining 3 cups water
5. Add vanilla and sweetener of choice

Benefits of pumpkin seeds
• Diuretic properties make these seeds useful for kidney, urinary tract and prostate disease especially BPH. Studies have also shown that the phosphorous in pumpkin seeds may help prevent kidney stones. SP/ST sweet warm & neutral. Supplements middle jiao.

Almond Horchata

Almond Horchata — Serves 8

2 quarts of Almond Milk
1 teaspoon of cinnamon
1 teaspoon of vanilla
1/2 cup rice syrup

Combine ingredients in a large pot and let it come to a boil. Once boiling, reduce heat and let it simmer for 5 minutes. Serve hot.

Almond milk – neutral, sweet – ventilates lungs, relieves cough and asthma, transforms phlegm
Cinnamon – hot, pungent, sweet – strengthens stomach, warms coldness, stops pain
Rice Syrup – moistens dryness, Nourishes lung yin and tonifies lung qi
